Our History...

is really important to us..we think it's a big part of what makes our Store unique!

We are now one of the oldest department stores in the UK-established in 1878 by Herbert Lewis and still managed by the same family-now in it's fifth generation.

Where are we?

We still trade from the same building today-our Coronation buildings which were designed and built by Herbert Lewis in 1902.

Our store is situated in the middle of the High

Street of Chepstow, Monmouthshire in the picturesque Wye Valley. You'll recognise our store from the turretts and the town clock-which Herbert erected for the town in 1905.

What do we do?

We still sell a huge variety of Fashion and Home products and are a longstanding member of the largest non-food buying group in the UK. This means that we buy in bulk with other UK Independents to ensure we have the best brands at the best value for money.

We have our own Tearooms named after Alice-Herbert Lewis' daughter and here you can take time out to relax and watch the world go by from our turret window seats!

Our Team

We have a great team at the store! Our Colleagues are brilliant at going the extra mile for their customers and will do everything they can to make your experience with us extra special.

We have our own trained team in store to measure, estimate & fit furnishings as well as deliver and assemble your furniture. We don't use contractors as we know our team give the best service around!

We also have qualified staff in corsetry measuring and fitting with full training in fitting and advice following breast surgery. Home visits in the local area for this can be arranged-just contact us today!

If you want to talk to us in store, there is no Head Office so

all of our Managers & team are onsite and we always have time to chat.
